Sigurður was born and raised in the Dalir region, son of Svanur Hjartarson, a driver from Vífilsdalur in Hörðudalur, Dalasýsla, and Edda Tryggvadóttir from Arnarbæli on Fellsströnd, Dalasýsla.

Svansson ehf was founded on 1 November 2006. The company is a family business owned by Sigurður Svansson and Ólöf Eðvarðsdóttir.
We survived the financial crash. The first years afterwards were hard, but we pulled through and look to the future with optimism.
Svansson focuses on good service, reliable products and practical solutions for customers who need equipment that fits the job. The company services its own products and provides outfitting, installation and advice for boats, rescue equipment, work vehicles, electrical systems and related equipment.

Ólöf Eðvarðsdóttir
Ólöf was born at Ás in Nes, Hornafjörður, daughter of Eðvarð Sigurjónsson — a Post & Telegraph station manager from Reykjavík — and Anna Margrét Ragnarsdóttir from Grund, Nes, Hornafjörður.
